Alpine climbing in the Alps

The Alps are unique mountains because of the combination of long-time development and easy access, relatively high latitude, altitude, precipitations, and steepness. For centuries, while valleys have lured large populations, the highest peaks have been a terrain of adventure, close, but so different from our everyday environment. Having lived in France most of my life, I have had the opportunity to do several visits to this magical world, as an alpinist.
