Hoi AnPictures by QT Luong |
| Hoi An was one of South-East Asia's main sailing ports from the 17th to the 19th century. Over time, the resulting fusion of cultures has created an exceptional architectural heritage which is still very well preserved, under the form of a thousand historical buildings. Hoi An is one of the most enchanting towns in Vietnam, a quiet and friendly place, easily explored on foot, where you can still be transported one hundred years ago to a colorful past. During the Lantern Festival which takes place on the night of the full moon, Hoi An turns off its street lamps and fluorescent lights, leaving the Old Quarter bathed in the warm glow of the colorful paper lanterns and the candles the ancient town is known for. The Hoi An Ancient Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. |
