The Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, about one hour south of Fort Myers, is a nature preserve owned by the National Audubon Society. There is a 2-mile elevated boardwalk that encompasses a variety of enviroments, includng the largest stands of virgin bald cypress in the country.
