Isle au Haut is the French name of a village and island in the Penobscot Bay, with a year-round population of less than 100. Isle au Haut can be reached by a daily mailboat from Stonington. Once there, you need to explore the 6 miles long by 2 miles wide island by foot or bicycle. The southern portion of Isle au Haut forms the lesser visited of the three units that make up Acadia National Park.
