Grand Canyon by Raft Photography Workshop

Summary: Grand Canyon rafting expedition specifically designed to be a photographic adventure of a lifetime, providing you access to seldom-photographed locations during the best possible time of the day. Learn from two professional photographers (QT Luong, Oliver Klink) how to master various light conditions, including night photography.

The Grand Canyon counts as one of the wonders of the natural world with some of the most stunning landscape on the planet. There is no better way to experience the Grand Canyon than rafting some of the world's most famous rapids, discover unique places accessible only by boat, and hike up the side canyons.

Our expedition is designed specifically to be a photographic adventure of a lifetime, providing you access to seldom-photographed locations during the best possible time of the day. Instead of traveling with people with vastly differing goals, interested in a bit of sightseeing, hiking, and rapids riding, your companions will be like-minded photography enthusiasts and two well-established full-time photographers, QT Luong and Oliver Klink, who will be available at any time during the trip to provide expert advice and individual instruction tailored to each participant's need.

The trip takes place in early May, avoiding the intense heat of mid-summer, rains, and benefiting from spring wildflowers. At that time the Little Colorado River is at its most exquisite shade of crystalline turquoise, providing a striking contrast with the red rocks. Starting the expedition with a new moon will also provide favorable conditions for night photography in this exceptionally dark environment. As we will be running the river on four smal rafts, there will be constant opportunities for action photographs during the day.

We will be traveling with a well-established river company licensed to operate in the Grand Canyon National Park. Besides operating the boats, our river guides will prepare all three delicious meals so that your job will only be picking up and setting your own camp (most just sleep under the stars) and photography.

Do not miss out on this unique opportunity. We only have 12 spots!

Pre-trip: Oliver and QT will communicate personally with you to get you geared up for this unique photographic expedition.
