The interior of Kauai is dominated by the inaccessible Mt Waialeale, which is the rainiest place on earth, and feeds seven rivers. The only way to see this incredibly lush terrain is to take an helicopter tour. There are waterfalls everywhere, although many of them are seasonal. Below Mt Waialeale is Alakai Swamp, a unique high-elevation tropical swamp where the vegetation is stunted by the amount of moisture.
