Antelope Valley

Antelope Valley consists of northern Los Angeles County and the southern portion of Kern County, California. It lies north of the San Gabriel Mountains in the Mojave Desert. The valley is known as one of the best places for finding spring wildflowrs. In April, some of the densest displays of bright orange California Poppies (eschscholzia californica) blanket the low hills of the California Poppy Preserve near Lancaster. Depending on the year, some other locations in the valley can have better flower displays than the Preserve.
