Suwon, the provincial capital of Gyeonggi-do, is mostly visited for the Hwaseong Fortress, a massive wall extending for nearly 6 km which brought together the latest developments in military architecture from both East and West at the end of the 18th century. One can stroll the entire length of the wall and discover along the way numerous gates, bastions, and artillery towers, as well as a panoramic view over the city of Suwon. The Hwaseong Fortress is a UNESCO world heritage site.

Incheon (third largest city in South Korea) is linked to Seoul by a long bridge. The Incheon International Airport has been rated the best airport in the world.
