Miami is the largest city in the Southeast, the core of the fourth-largest urbanized area in the United States (behind New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago). While downtown Miami is a global center of finance (largest concentration of international banks in the United States) and culture, a lot of the tourist activity is concentrated on Miami Beach, a city linked to downtown Miami through a number of causeways that cross a portion of the Biscayne Bay. Miami Beach is one of America's best known beach resorts. Miami Beach's Art Deco District comprises hundreds of hotels and apartment buildings in Art Deco style, making it the largest collection of Art Deco architecture in the world.
